The Restoration and Rehabilitation of the Former Knights of Pythias Hall,
Jewel Lodge, No. 103 for the Purpose of Establishing the Chisholm Trail
Heritage Museum
Phases Three and Five:
For economic reasons, we have combined Phases Three and Five. Phases Three and
Five will involve the construction of the shell of a new 4,500 square-foot,
two-story addition on the north side of the existing historic building. This
will include a concrete foundation, structural frame, second floor slab and
roof structure. Doors and windows will be provided to weatherproof the building
shell. A one-story porch defining an entry will be provided on the east
façade in conjunction with the construction of an entry courtyard
enclosure. The interior partitions will be erected so that rough-in
installation of plumbing and electrical can occur. The addition will ultimately
contain the new restrooms and elevator that will serve the existing building
function. In addition to the required service facilities, the addition will
contain offices, and storage areas for the museum, and a catering kitchen for
the multipurpose community facilities on the second floor. At the time that the
new roof membrane will be placed on the addition, the membrane on the existing
building will be removed and a new membrane complete with a full parapet wrap
and parapet cap will be applied.
The construction will also include the finish-out of the new
4,500 square-foot addition space at both the first and second floors. This will
include floor, wall and ceiling finishes in all areas. It will also include the
installation of the plumbing fixtures in the new restrooms, electrical
finish-out such as switches, outlets and light fixtures. It will also include
the installation of the elevator and HVAC systems.
